Updating to newest version on MacBook Air

My MacBook Air 2017 has the current version of 10.12.6 and I'm desperately need to download Office Word on my laptop but it requires 10.14. Ive checked for updates in my App store and anywhere else to think to look and I can't find where to update it.

10.14 Mojave can be obtained from the links in the following Support document: click here-> How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support

The most current version of macOS your Mac can run however is 11.5.4 Big Sur. click here-> How to upgrade to macOS Big Sur - Apple Support

Do note however, Mojave marks the end of 32 bit app support so past that no 32 bit apps will work.

hundersmarck1:

Perhaps an easier &/or better idea may be to get and use free open-sourced

LibreOffice; based on opensource, compatible with MS Word/Office products.

See info pages + additional linked download pages for LibreOffice, here:

Maybe due to being a Stable 'longer used' version try LibreOffice 7.1.5.

(Not first one among macOS versions; should not balk w/ macOS 10.12.6x)

Then you may choose to make several backups via Time Machine; & clones

to have extra stuff ready for an upgrade to Mojave 10.14.6; on separate HDs.
