Desktop in Favorites

My Desktop used to be in my Finder Favorites. With the most recent update to Mac OS, it is no longer there. Why not? How can I get it back in Favorites?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 11.5

Finder >> Preferences >> Sidebar and add it back

Yep, I see it there under iCloud. I thought it used to be in Favorites because I never had iCloud activated in Sidebar.
