Trying to set up new watch it will not turn on

Attempting to set up a NEW Apple Watch series 6 it will not turn on? Do I charge it?

That would be the first thing to try. To turn on your Apple Watch, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo. This may take a few minutes. Then see:
