I recently lost my iphone and want to wipe it as it has all my personal information and photos. Does clicking Erase iphone from icloud erase, photos, apps ext? I can never seem to find out what it wipes.
Yes it does but before you do that if you have insurance coverage on your iPhone check with the company first. A good passcode and Activation Lock should keep anyone out and the erase will only work if the iPhone is on and connected to the internet.

Yes. that deletes all data associated with your Apple ID on your iPhone.
Hopefully you created a backup to restore from prior to losing your iPhone.
