sending text messages from computer

For example, you can use Yahoo Messenger from your computer or iPhone, and it works fine either way.

Is there a way to send text messages from you computer via iPhone text messaging? I am simply looking for an easier way to type using the keyboard, not trying to get around paying for text messages.
