The voice in Maps (and Mapquest) does not work when in my car. This just started a few days ago. It works fine in the house or elsewhere, just not MY CAR.
I’ve gone through all of the general instructions, inc disconnecting the car’s Bluetooth. Nothing. Why is voice not working where I need it most. iPhone SE 2021, current iOS.

Your understanding is incorrect.
Voice doesn’t work *at all* in the car, Bluetooth or not - Meaning the phone speakers don’t work either.
And CarPlay doesn’t enter into it.
Siri Voice in maps works everywhere but in my car. That also goes for the Mapquest voice.
I’ve done all of the steps suggested in all of the other articles and this started just a few days ago.
It’s really quite strange.
