Sonata movie translation on Apple TV

I just purchased “The Sonata” on iTunes. There are a couple of scenes with conversations in French. I turned on the CC for a translation, but the only thing that came up was “Speaking French..” Will someone please explain what I can do to get subtitles for these conversations, so I can know what’s going on?

If the subtitles/CC say “Speaking French”, then usually the dialog is intended (by the film makers) to be foreign and intended to not be understood, just like (some of) the characters may experience that. Else it would have ‘forced’ subtitles for the foreign parts. I think it is not-translated on purpose.

Either find a French-speaking collaborator to view it with, or find a discussion site for that movie to exchange information about this bit of dialog.
