Airplane mode

My 85 year old mom engages airplane mode somehow quite a bit. Is there a way to block engagement of airplane mode or notify me (I live in a different state) when she engages it?

More than likely, your mom engages AirPlane Mode from the Control Center which is accessible even from the Lock Screen. I don't believe that she is going into Settings and then setting AirPlane Mode to OFF because going into Settings requires extra steps.

Note: You won't be able to make any changes to Airplane mode, Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio playback, lock screen rotation, Do Not Disturb, or screen mirroring. Those controls always remain in Control Center.

The halfway fix to this is to disable control center on the Lock Screen. To do this on her iPad, Open Settings ➔ TouchID & Passcode ➔ Enter passcode when prompted ➔ Allow Access When Locked section ➔ Control Center : Set this to OFF.

My thought process is that she is probably turning AirPlane Mode OFF when control center is accidentally brought up on the lock screen. If this is the case, then the action shown above will prevent that.
