Howdy Good People!

My screen display is a bit off. At times, the whole display is too high - so the top part of the menu bar is hidden, and there's some space (that shouldn't be there) under the doc. If I play with it, it moves back down to the right place. There are also slight distortions in apperance of text. It's not a big deal, but it's an indication that something's not quite right.

I updated Big Sur (the most recent update) - didn't help. I ran First Aid - it said everything looks ok.

Anyone have/had a similar issue?

Hello dndn,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like the display settings on your Mac may have been changed causing a display appearance that is not expected. We'd like to help.

Here's how to Change Display preferences on Mac. We would suggest checking your display resolution preferences.

Try to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac. "Settings that can be stored in NVRAM include sound volume, display resolution, startup-disk selection, time zone, and recent kernel panic information" so if you experience issues with one of these settings, resetting NVRAM can help.

You may also want to try to Start up your Mac in safe mode. Does the display change in safe mode? Or does it look the same?

Have a nice day.
