A friend wants to transfer to Mac from intel. He would like to buy a new m1 iMac . How can he transfer all data from intel to Mac? Will Apple do this if he buys directly from a Mac store?

They have curtailed some services in store due to the pandemic; at my nearest store, they do not offer personalized setup at this time, but find yours and ask - rules are probably different in different locations/countries.

This is for a friend transitioning to a new M1 iMac from a Windows Machine.
I have been told M1 Mac's will not cleanly transfer all Windows data.
