Server monitor 10.6.4, v1.8

I have installed two new Xserves this spring, and neither of them will work with the Server monitor utility, always get the same error when I add the local server name or IP address, the proper administrator account and password. It says "CANNOT LOAD BUNDLE ERR". I haven't found any discussion document about it, so wondered if there was something I didn't setup right.

I just setup another 10.6 server this time on a Mac Mini. I know the utility shouldn't work on the Mini, so I just ran the utility to see what error message I would get. My surprise, the exact same message on the utility. So what is wrong on the Xserve setup to get such a message on more than one Xserve?? The server documentation doesn't reference the error.

Please see my replies in this thread: [threadID=2006941|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2006941] for the likely triggers, and see [HT2773|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2773] for the sequence involved with configuring the Xserve LOM hardware.

The Mac Mini Server box (and any other Mac box running Mac OS X Server other than the Xserve box) does not have the hardware features expected and necessary for use with Server Monitor; the Mac Mini Server and Mac boxes other than the Xserve boxes all lack the LOM hardware.

I do know that you can only use the Server Monitor feature on the Xserve, but I did not get it to work in 10.5 or 10.6 on Xserves until I actually used the loopback IP address 127.0.0.1, per the HT2773 article. The LOM isn't that important to me, but the Server Monitor Utility is. In 10.6, there are some quirks regarding the temp indicators (sometimes see all the sensors, sometimes nothing shows), but overall it does work with the localhost IP address. The thread suggested really doesn't have as much info as the HP2773 does, for my interest.
