Cracklingleft ear on Beats Studio Buds

Hi - I just received my beats studio buds last week but I have been hearing a crackling sound in the left bud. I have tried to reset them as per the instructions but even if I hold the system button for 30 seconds it doesn't reset (i.e. no flashing red and white light). Has anyone experienced this? (either the crackling or the reset issue?)
