What is your model Apple TV? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

The account for home sharing has to be a valid Apple ID account, not just any email.
The account on the computer and on the Apple TV box have to match.
For home sharing iTunes Store content, the account has to match the account as used for the purchase.
To set a different account for home sharing on the computer, turn home sharing off there, then turn it on again. Then it will ask for the account to use for home sharing.
To set a different account on Apple TV, go to Settings﹥Users and Account﹥Home Sharing﹥, turn home sharing off there, then turn it on again. Then it will ask for the account to use for home sharing.
