Hello pieter285,
We understand that you are trying to use an external SSD with your iPad Air 2. It is quite possible that the iPad Air cannot output the required amount of voltage in order to power the SSD, unlike a computer. The camera connector kit is designed for less demanding devices, like SD card readers and thumb drives. Are you able to connect an external power source to your Sandisk?
