Earpiece

Dear community,

I got my iphone into sea water and since the next day of the incident, the earpiece (the receiver, not the speaker) produces a metallic sound that seems totally problematic and taints all the exported sounds of the device.

This is the third day in a row that the incident continues.

Can this be incidental? IP 68 seems to be perfectly fine with it and I am just wondering what went wrong.

Thank you.

Hello,

Hmm, there is probably some water damage. If you have a case on it, remove it and let it dry out. See this:

Water and other liquid damage to iPhone or iPod isn't covered by warranty

Good luck.
