How to recover deleted iMessage

Deleted messages are gone forever.

If you do NOT use messages in iCloud:

1. you may be able to find messages on a different device (iPad or Mac)
2. You can restore your last backup to retrieve messages up until the backup (albeit at the expense of any new information on your device since the backup was made)
