Why can’t I apply for the Apple Card

Hello! I am a US citizen living in Australia. I have been trying to get the Apple Card. I even switched back to the US iTunes Store and could not acces the Apple Card. It comes up with “apple services are currently unavailable. Please try again later” I’ve been trying on and off for a couple months even with a vpn and nothing. I have other credit cards that work fine in my wallet.

Because you are living in Australia. Apple Card is only available in the US, and not just to citizens, to anyone living in the US with a US mailing address and US identification such as a driver’s license and a US IP address.
