Export an ITunes playlist into a single MP3?

Hi all, I searched this topic and this is as far as I got...


I select all the songs in the playlist. While they are highlighted, I go to "File," select "Convert," then "Create MP3 version."


At the bottom of the app, I see a little heads-up that the first song in the playlist is being converted...


...but then the process stops after the first song, and all I have to show for it is another MP3 copy of the first song, instead of an MP3 that combines all the songs from the playlist into a single file.


What am I doing wrong? Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated!

What you should get is duplicate copies of all songs in the playlist, not a single output file. I don't know why the process stops after the first song, but iTunes seems to be fond of silent errors. You cannot convert any song that is in the cloud or comes from an Apple Music subscription.
