Finding screensaver picture

Hi -- sometimes my screensaver shows me pictures that i would love to retrieved look at again or share because they are old, but I cannot seem to find them. I know where my images are stored but going through them all, especially old images is time consuming. Is there a way to review screensaver history and retrieve images?

Hi chicagoriver,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you want to find the screen saver pictures that your Mac uses and we some Apple Support articles below that can show how you can locate these pictures.

Use a screen saver on your Mac -- You may be able to find the photos using “Source” in step 3 of this page of the macOS User Guide.

Find photos by keyword in Photos on Mac

Have a nice day.

Hi - thanks gladyc -- the issue is that my source for pictures is iphoto events and there are so many going back so long...I was hoping there might be another way apart from searching through my photo library which I have set to random. I really like seeing a variety of pics, some of which capture moments I have forgotten. I also see photos that I would be happy to delete if I could easily go to them. It would help me keep my library organized and free of clutter.

Are there any other tips?
