I-phone 6 IOS version stopped updating

For the I-phone 6, the IOS very last version that is possible to download is 12.5.4 so that many apps would not update and others you cannot download at all. Speaking to the Apple Support Service, you could only use old applications or buy a new model.

Is that a fare attitude to require the old customers to use only old app or to buy a new I-phone to get updated IOS versions ? While my I-phone 6 perfectly working must be replaced by a new one, considering even that I bought it at almost 1000 euros only 5 years ago. Is that fare that I must again pay 1000 euros for the 13th edition ?

Correct. 12.5.4 is the last version an iPhone 6 can run.

It is not compatible with iOS 13, 14 or the upcoming 15. It's 7 year old hardware at this point. Its not fair or un fair. Its not an attitude its a fact of the hardware. You don't expect a 20 year old computer to run today software do you? You don't expect a 30 year old car to be able to do the things a new car can do?

It's not physically possible for it to run a newer OS version, and its not up to Apple what OS versions Apps require. That is up to the app developer. They define what features they want for their App and what iOS version it needs to use not Apple. Apple has nothing to do with it.

You can't use an electronic device for ever even if it does continue to work. At some point you need to replace it for newer version that can do newer stuff. Why is 7 years not enough support for you? How many years would you like there to be support for? At what point would you be o.k with having to replace the device? 8 years? 10 years? At some point all devices need to be replaced. For an iPhone 6 the time is now if it no longer does what you need it to do.

Your point is correct. But, I meant that once you have a Customer for so long, also buying other devices like the last I-pad, as a Company you should care of purposing a convenient commercial agreement to let me buy a new I-phone instead of let me think of moving somewhere else to get a very similar service and spending less. If you care about the fidelity of your already Customers, who has invested already a good amount in your Company, you don’t say just “buy a new device “. That is the point.
