My Apple Watch will not pair bc of an update but then it says I have no internet internet when I do

My Apple Watch will not connect. I got an iPhone 12 but my Apple Watch was paired with my 11. It wouldn’t let me pair so I did what it said on the website and factory reset my watch and now it won’t let me pair bc it says it has an update but is not connected to the internet

trying to pair apple watch and it says no internet connection I have an Apple watch I haven't used in a few years that's been sitting in a drawer. I wanted to use it again, so I tried to pair it with my phone (same phone it had been previously paired to) but each time I get past the screen with the image capture, it says it needs to update software, then stops as it says there is no Internet connection.

If you see 'Unable to Verify Update' when updating Apple Watch
