Possible to prevent Home Screen modification, or at least have some confirmation prompt?

Seeing applications removed from an iPhone 11 that is being used by someone with Alzheimer's.

I think what is happening is that they are using a Swipe feature, such as Swipe Up From Bottom of Screen and accidentally deleting applications.

I have subsequently enabled Accessibility -> Touch -> AssistiveTouch [Sic] so that they don't need to Swipe as much, but as that is a new feature for them I fear it wont really help.

Hello allsOrts,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you have some questions about how to prevent apps from being accidentally removed. We’re more than happy to help out.

You can set up restrictions on the iPhone that would prevent an app from being deleted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > Deleting Apps > and change this option to Don’t Allow. This will stop apps from being accidentally deleted. Go to Use parental controls on your child’s iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and see the section “Prevent iTunes & App Store purchases” for details.

Let us know if there is anything else we can help out with.

Have a wonderful day!
