How do I suspend auto-calculation in numbers?

I would prefer to initiate calculations in numbers manually as I can in Excel. Is there a way?

freeze calculations in Numbers I'm tracking some stocks that I have in numbers and have it set up to calculate the values based on the price, which is automatically updated nightly. At the end of the month, I'd like to "freeze" the calculations for that month, and re-calculate for the new month. So is there way to "freeze" (and that's probably the wrong term...) calculations, so they don't change values any more. So on Jan 31, I can "freeze" the calculations for January, and setup a new column for February based on the calculations...

looking to turn off formula and error checking Hi and top of the morning all. This one is not too big on my list, but anyway... just wondering... is there a way to temporarily disable automatic calculations in Apple’s Numbers? perhaps turn it off momentarily, to speed up edit cells, especially on larger sheets. I feel it will be cool to switch between modes. The only walk around I have so far, is to let it run through updating sheet and then going unto next cell. If you edit to many cells, you can really bug it down. Oh, how about your remedies... that's welcome too. thanks in anticipation to your replies.

There is no switch to turn it off.

Thanks. I thought that was the case. I wish it wasn't because every data edit creates an iteration and RAND function results are improperly impacted.

Yes, RAND and all other functions will update with every change you make. In what way are they "improperly impacted"?
