iMessaging people from different countries

My question is can I iMessage someone from Germany to the US free of charge?

iMessage uses data. If you have unlimited data or are on WiFi, there will be no extra charge for iMessages, regardless of where your recipient is.


If you have a limit on your cellular data and don't have WiFi available, sending iMessages will use up your data, again, regardless of where your recipient is.
