password
I just bough the new Mac put a password on it but forgot it now I cannot log in
iMac 24″, macOS 11.4
You need a password manager such as 1Password that you can install on your devices and use it to manage all the passwords and logins you are responsible for.
- Restart in the Recovery Partition (hold down Command + R on startup) please make sure your keyboard is plugged in like you would be recharging it!
- Open Terminal (look in the menus for it)
- In Terminal type resetpassword and follow the on-screen prompts.
