Is it possible to [Command + Tab] through open applications, but in reverse?

I love to use key commands on a mac. I usually end up with 10+ applications open and running at the same time, and I love to use [Command + Tab] to quick jump back and forth. However... I very often end up accidentally hitting Tab one time too many, and I have to press it 9-10 more times to get through all the other open apps to get back to the one I wanted. Is there no key command or shortcut for shifting backwards through the open applications?
