No, it has to be on the MagSafe charger, or you need to get the magSafe charging case for the phone. And an iPhone 11 can’t do that either unless a charger is against the back of the phone.

But I am still a little bit confused. I meant for my iPhone 12 to keep being charged, do I need to put it on top of MagSafe Charger, or no, I can hold it in my hand at some distance from the charger and still expect to continue to charge? The reason I am asking is I had seen one of my friend's iPhone 11 getting charged in her hand when the iPhone 11 has recently introduced to the market. So, I would be so pleased if you could possibly help me.
