Not Enough Memory to Save, with 16 gigs of new M1 MacAir

I bought a M1 new MacAir so I could continue to work on my photos when I'm away from my iMac. BUT ... using the NIK Collection 4 ... part of my basic Photoshop workflow ... I can't even save small FB resolution images photos. I get a "Not Enough RAM Memory" message. It's a new M1 MacAir with 16 gigs of RAM. The most one can get. This happens even with all other software closed, and only one image open in CC Photoshop. I've uninstalled, re-downloaded new copies, ie. latest versions, and reinstalled a number of times. CC Photoshop and NIK Collection 4. ReStarting the MacAir in-between. To Install the NIK Collection into Photoshop I had to click on "Open using Rosetta." My OS is up-to-date: 11.5.2
