I purchased more iCloud storage but my iPhone still said full photos

How do I free up space on my iPhone to iCloud I’m paying up from $2.99 to now $9.99 each month please help ??

Go to Settings > Photos and enable optimize storage. That will keep full images in the cloud and lower resolution versions on your device.

P.S. purchasing cloud storage does not add more storage to your device. Your device will always have the same amount of space as when it was purchased.

What's the difference between device storage and iCloud storage?
