Apple Fitness workout not available at this time

I have two questions:

  1. Is there a time limit on downloaded Workouts? I've downloaded several workouts but then when I've tried to use them I've gotten ' ...not available at this time' ...which is confusing for a workout downloaded to my iPad.
  2. Connected to question #1 above: how is it that some workouts can be 'not available at this time.'? I don't get this popup for Netflix/AmazonPrime or any other MOVIE channel and those are movies, not 10-30 minute workouts? I find it very hard to believe that this would be a server use issue on the Apple side...but is it? Also, who wants to be told that something they are paying for is 'unavailable '? This has happened repeatedly (and been confirmed by others on other forums) and I've tried to open workouts over an ~1/2 hr. period and gotten the same response. I would think that Apple would be aware that a large number of people would work out in the mornings so....having a session only come available in the evening or much later than ones usual work out time would be a non-starter? Much appreciation for any responses. Thanks....

Hello A. Stradford,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with downloaded content in the Fitness app. Which exact version of iPadOS are you updated to under Settings > General > About? Does restarting your iPad resolve the issue? Are you connected to WI-Fi when this occurs? Does this occur with all workouts or specific ones?

Also, check out the information about working out with Apple Fitness here: Work out with Apple Fitness+

Cheers!

MichelleT18,

First, thanks for the quick response. I have a 9.7 inch 2017 iPadPro with iOS 14.7.1 installed (the latest). I've seen this issue before and as of this morning the problem was still there. I've just restarted the iPad for a test: Same issue. Exact wording: "Cannot Play Video. The video for this workout is unavailable at this time' End Workout " The particular workout is HIIT with Kim; 10 minutes; May 3. Yes, I've been connected to my home Wifi each time with no issues. Also, I've been able to go on and use a different 'regular' workout. As a test I also tried to open another downloaded video "Core With Sam", 10 min., May 10". Got the same 'Cannot play....' as with the previous video. Both videos are in 'My Library' at the bottom of the main 'Fitness+" page. Both have a "✔️ Downloaded' label attached. Each can also be found under the 'Downloaded Workouts' tab at the absolute bottom of the page but give the same result when chosen through that tab. NOTE: the wording is the same as when I've chosen videos in the 'main/regular' section and not been able to play them. So, again: are downloaded video under some sort of time constraint as concerns use? And: Does 'Fitness +' deactivate or archive videos past a certain age? To repeat, I don't understand why the choice of a live/regular video should ever be 'unavailable at this time'.

Also, Just tried one of the first videos I ever downloaded : "Core with Molly; 11min.; Jan 11'. Doesn't seem to be any issue with it....video starts same as when I first downloaded it in January.

Suggestions ?

Thank You Very Much!

Removed the downloads and re-downloaded and now both previously non-working videos work as expected! Thanks for telling me how to remove them (I would have probably needed this info eventually...) and for the help in resolving my issue! Now I can repeat the Fitness+ sessions that I like until they become too easy!

NOW: my final (?) pet peeve...which you may not be able to help resolve. Why doesn't Apple simply list the exercises that are going to be done in a session? I know that (sometimes) you can glean this info from the Preview but not always. It would be so helpful if this info were readily available so one could plan, say for a week or so, what sessions to take . Would also be useful in avoiding exercises that might impact sore muscles or that the environment (Burpies on carpet anyone?) isn't good for.....Just a hope that there's a way to view this or that Apple makes it possible.

Again, thanks for removing my frustration at getting the videos I've downloaded to work.

PS: Weird that the 'corrupted' (?) videos prevented the same videos on the main page from working properly???
