In your case you may need a second Mac

Well, I am embarrassed to say that because it's my first M1 Mac I didn't realize the fingerprint password is also the start-up button. It's also the first MacBook Pro I bought online because buying in-store is no longer an option. Apple has limited a lot of sales and other services I valued since it's closed its stores for so long. That was a strong calling card that Apple has let slip away. If I weren't an Apple MacBook user since 2009 I doubt I would ever become one. They aren't losing old customers since, "once you've gone Mac you won't go back", me included. But, like I say no telling how many "potential new" customers they have lost since making this questionable decision.

I need to back up and I'm sure I will be able to get to OS Recovery, stay tuned.
