12 mini text effects not working

Hi - I recently got a 12 mini and often used to send screen effect text animation (confetti/laser etc). Since getting the mini I can send the bubble effects but it won’t let me slide the screen over to send other things. It seems the screen is too small. I’ve set the screen settings back to minimal but it won’t work??
