if you purchased from Apple or an Authorized Apple Dealer (OWC, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) and it was packaged as an Apple Product, it should be genuine. If you decided to go "Cheap, Low-Priced" from Amazon, eBay, it may be fake. Remember you get what you pay for!
If you want Genuine Apple, stop all the nonsense of trying to save a few bucks and just purchase from a source that you can trust.
