Apple TV 3rd Gen error code

i found my apple tv but it needs to be restored. whenever i try using itunes the error code 1661 keeps coming. sometimes error code 9 or 14 come too. ive tries Mac, PC, different networks.


whats the solution?

Restore your Apple TV - Apple Support

  • Be sure to be using a generic USB cable that supports data transfer. Some USB cables originally bundled with other devices may be for charging only.
  • Be sure to power the Apple TV (3rd generation) at the indicated moment.


Restoring doesn’t do much for remote control.

You can buy a replacement remote if that is what you need.
