You can’t get any Apple credit card without a passcode on your phone. You can’t use any function of the wallet for any other credit card, debit card or bank account without a passcode on your phone. Think about it - if your phone is lost or stolen and it doesn’t have a passcode whoever finds it can charge huge amounts to your credit cards and drain your bank account if the Wallet was enabled. That’s why you can’t use the wallet without a passcode, and also an Apple ID with 2 factor authentication.

You can’t put a passcode on the Wallet, you must put a passcode on your phone. As you appear to have an XR you can also enable facial recognition, so you will only need the passcode when you restart the phone or when it has been idle for a day or more.
Hello ~ You use the passcode on your iPhone and as *Lawrence Finch * has explained and you can also enable Face ID to unlock your device as well… which is what I do. How do you unlock your iPhone? Do you have any cards in your Wallet on your iPhone and have you used the Wallet b4?

Request and activate a titanium Apple Card

You cannot. You cannot even have an online Apple Card this way.
Hello ~ Which is covered in the article they came from and I reposted for them to reread. You can’t have one without the other is the gist of it I suppose. I only have the Titanium card to see what a titanium card looks like….

You cannot “only have the Titanium card”. You must also have the Apple Card in your wallet as Lawrence Finch explained.
Hello ~ I use my Titanium Apple Card just as any other credit card…and from the article that the original poster came from I assumed that was the question being asked.

The original poster asked how to get (apply for) an Apple Card, not how to use one.
Hello ~ I think the op is interested in the Apple Titanium card but perhaps I am wrong.

If I use the passcode on Wallet, does it put the passcode on any other app? Or when I open my phone, do I have to use a passcode if I put it on Wallet?
Hello ~ I have both as I said you cannot have one without the other. I was making a jest as I don’t really use my Apple Titanium card…just have it for looks. In fact I don’t even carry it with me as it is a pretty fragile card anyway. The article I reposted pretty much explains the process and takes about 2 minutes to complete.

Hi, you must have a passcode on your iPhone to enable the Wallet App. If you setup a passcode, then add cards, then try to remove the passcode, you’ll see a warning that all the cards and other secure information will be deleted from your iPhone.
Even to apply for the Apple Card, you must have two factor authentication turned on. All these security measures are meant to protect you and your personal and financial information should you lose your iPhone or leave it unattended. This is for your protection.
Once a passcode is on your device, it’ll apply to all Apps etc. You will need to enter your passcode to get past the iPhones Lock Screen.
You are correct, but you must have an Apple Card in the wallet on your phone to request the physical card.
