WhatsApp taken over FaceTime video call options.

Hi.

WhatsApp defaults video call options and removes FaceTime as an option. In FaceTime app contacts are greyed out and unable to FaceTime. As FaceTime is and Apple app it doesn’t seem to have been addressed. Looking at earlier posts to this problem, it seems to have been ignored and referred to contact third party WhatsApp. Very annoying as some contacts with Apple devices can be called with FaceTime and others with Apple devices only WhatsApp.

Appears FaceTime can only be used if contact has full +*********** international number stored. If contact has local (no country code) WhatsApp becomes default. Hope that helps anyone with this issue.

Only noticed this issue yesterday when contact I last FaceTime’d a month ago was defaulted to WhatsApp only. FaceTime app greyed out contact. Editing number in contacts to start +******** restored FaceTime for this contact.

-Running iOS 14.7.1

-WhatsApp version 2.21.170
