Question: Slow 2015 Macbook Pro 15"

My 2015 Macbook Pro 15"16/251 is really struggling despite having half of it's storage available. It seems that the Memory is overloading when I'm only using basic MS Office programs, even with everything closed in the background. I have deleted caches and removed everything I'm able to work out with my basic computer knowledge. Does anyone have any ideas other than running third-party software?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.5

Start with Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN

All of these are known to cause issue on the macOS.

You can see memory pressure and associated apps from the Activity Monitor.app

~/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app

Great vintage (2015 MBP!)

Things like caches won't make much of a difference but I've found repairing home permissions, OS reinstall (backup first) v helpful. Etre - as Leroy mentions, is very good at giving you a picture of what is using your memory etc. V. trustworthy piece of software.
