store credit and iPhone back up

I have recently damaged my screen to my iPhone 8 Plus and I can not use the screes at all I wanted to know if I could still perform a back up on my laptop in iTunes and then turn my phone in for possible store credit.

Apple will not give you a credit for a damaged phone. And backups must be made before they are needed, after is too late.
