Hi there!
If you open Finder, on the very top menu click Go > Downloads, do you see what you’re looking to delete there?
If so, you can either drag to the trash, highlight it and press Command + Delete, or right (Control) click > Move To Trash.
If you’ve already tried those, can you say what happens when doing so?
Cheers.

There is normally a Folder in the Dock - second Icon to Last. Mouse over that Icon and a little pop-up dialogue should appear saying Downloads. Inside that is where the downloads are stored - normally. Click on the Icon and up pops anything inside the folder. With it appearing, just Drag the desired download to the Trash Bin.
The file will reside in the Trash Bin and disappear after 30 Days or when you Right click Trash and choose Empty Trash
Hey again! No worries, glad to help, we’ve all been there, there is plenty to learn, and always more as tech progresses. I still learn something new everyday, (That keeps it interesting though)! And yes, much different than using PC’s, in fact it’s been it’s been so long since using a PC, I would have plenty of questions. 🙂 I think though, once you go Mac, you never go back! 😁.
Thank you. I'm-new to this whole Mac thing but I'm learning Trying to teach a old dog new tricks.
