Cracked bezel on the M1 IPad Pro 11 inch ! [Advice Needed]

So while working a loose screw seems to have fallen into my ipad's magic keyboard, upon closing the iPad, the screw seems to have punctured the area to the right of the front camera and face ID. So none of the hardware there seems to be affected, front camera has no issues and face ID works fine. The damage doesn't seem too bad, the LCD is also untouched, would I just need to have the glass replaced?

This was very unlucky since that was the only part of the screen that the screen protector was not covering.

Overall I was wondering how much a glass replacement would cost if it was the only thing I needed to replace?

Thank you in advance for all the replies and advice.

In common with many other models of iPad, your 2021 iPad Pro has a fully laminated screen. As such, the cover glass/bezel is fused with the entire display panel to form a single component. As such, the cover glass/bezel cannot be replaced in isolation; the entire screen will require replacement.

If you have an AppleCare+ Plan, Apple will exchange your iPad for a small fee (AppleCare+ is an insurance product - and as such has a small excess/deductible fee). If you don’t have AppleCare+ cover, the fee will be c.60% of the “as new” cost of the iPad.

Yeah, just came from there they had nothing to say about just a cracked bezel, was wondering what kind pricing I'm looking at since I'm not going to be replacing the LCD, since I asked around the local apple authorized service providers, they dont seem to say much about it aswell besides getting a replacement unit.

Apple and Apple Stores DO NOT repair iPads, but ONLY offer in/out of warranty replacement devices.

The “bezel” is just the “blacked out” part of the glass the is glued ( laminated ) to the iPad's LCD panel.

Since NO AppleCare+, this is going to be an expensive replacement device at approx. 60% of that iPad's original cost.

If everything is still working, currently, with no issue, maybe best to just live with the crack.

You need to know/understand that IF you had purchased two-year+, extended AppleCare+, at purchase or within 60 days of purchase, the replacement iPad would have ONLY cost you a small replacement device fee of $49 U.S.D..

You, also, need to know, that to have that iPad have any trade-in value in the future, you are going to need to get that iPad replaced as any screen defects may effect its trade-in value, such as, maybe, NO value in trade due to this screen crack.

Also, any glass screen cracks have the possibility of spreading and getting worse.

Sorry & Best of Luck to You!

Thanks so much all for the input, would like to a final question from you all, since I'm sure I'm still within the warranty period (just bought the iPad in June-July), would it still be possible for me to purchase apple care and avail of the apple care + replacement rates?

I think it would be worth it since my iPad is still very new. (Delivered on June 12)

apart from apple care+ then varying from country to contry, one may have general person insurance which covers some things, insurances which one has with an insurance company.

I once had an expensive smartphone stolen and my insurance company covered most of the cost of the phone, many insurance companies in my country also have various general consumer electronic cover packets.
