If I play Apple Arcade games on my main Apple TV HD and then buy another Apple TV 4K and re-download each Apple Arcade game from iCloud - will the game progress be saved?

If I play Apple Arcade games on my main Apple TV HD and then buy another Apple TV 4K and re-download each Apple Arcade game from iCloud - will the game progress be saved so that I can carry on from where I left off if I download the games individually without using the “One Home Screen Option“

I ask as my main Apple TV HD is 64GB and over half full in storage and the other one is going to just be 32GB and I don’t want to re-download everything that was on the 64GB device - instead using the space mainly for Apple Arcade games.

Also, if I re-download apps like BBC iPlayer and YouTube from iCloud - would my log in details be saved like on iPhone - as I can’t remember my login to these apps? And if I reset my password it may have to be updated on all my other Apple devices including the main Apple TV HD which I could do but is time consuming.

Apple Arcade works across devices, where you can continue on a different device. Progress is stored online, through your Game Center account (part of your Apple ID).

It is games that cost the most storage on your devices, though. Streaming apps can be 20-150 MB, but games can be 1 GB or more each. Fortunately the modern tvOS supports “offloading unused apps”, to automatically free up space, but keeping app settings.

Without One Home Screen, the other device wouldn’t know about each third party app’s sign-in credentials. But if the credentials are in Keychain, then you can enter it with shortcuts e.g. via iPhone.

If you change your Apple ID password, then you’ll have to sign in again once on each device. No way around that.
