Pop up Notice Authenticity

I received a pop up notice that my iPhone had been hacked and was instructed to click on a link provided. I did not and want to verify if this notice was a scam or actually sent by Apple?

All such messages are scams from criminals.

Do not interact with the message or the sender

Do not download anything based on a popup message.
