Remote for Carplay

I am using Carplay (wired). Personally, I hate having to use a touchscreen in a car. The best control system I have come across in previous cars was the BMW iDrive…. I would like to replicate this somehow with Carplay. Is there anything that will enable me to control Carplay (or my iphone) remotely so I could have the remote in a better position to operate than the touchscreen? Want to browse my music library and select songs etc using the remote with data showing on the car screen
