IF this then that with dropdown menu in numbers?

Hello!

I was wondering if Numbers is capable of auto populating cells based on answers in another cell?

As seen in the picture below, I created a drop down menu for different drive locations and would like to populate the response in the column "milage one way" based on the response of the drop down menu.

For example if i choose JMC, Column "Milage one way" should auto-populate 10, if I choose VA, then 15 etc...

Thanks for your help!

The usual way is with a lookup table. There are several functions and formulas that do lookups.

Formula in cell B2 =XLOOKUP($A2,Table 2::A,Table 2::B,"",0)

Fill down to complete the column

If you have any blank rows in Table 2 , the blank rows in Table 1 (popup set to "none") will get a 0. So have no blank rows in Table 2.

Your screenshot was cut off on the left. If there is a "from" column to the left and you need to look up the distance between two places, that is a different lookup table and a different formula than what is shown above.
