Streaming blocked because of VPN

My wife and I have the same Internet service on our devices. She only uses her iPad and her iPhone to watch streaming services. Just within the past several days, when she attempts to watch the streaming services she gets a pop up stating she is using a VPN or other proxy server and she needs to turn it off. She is not using a VPN or a proxy server. When I use either my iPad or iPhone for such streaming, I do not get these messages.

Any ideas what might be going on?

Gr8fulted,

We'll be happy to clarify. In addition to a VPN, other types of software including configuration profiles, Anti-virus apps, Content blockers, and security software for example can cause connectivity issues. If you go to Settings > General > Profile, is there any thing listed? If not, you can review the installed apps on the device. Some of these apps may have the words anti, firewall, malware, security, etc.

VPN (Virtual Private Network) apps

Managed configuration profiles

Firewall apps

Anti-virus apps

Parental control apps

Content blockers":

Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues

Please reread my post. As I clearly mentioned in it, she doesn't HAVE a VPN. So the two questions are 1.) Why are these streaming services (Hulu and Netflix) saying she has to turn it off if she doesn't have one; and 2) How do we get these services to allow her access if she doesn't have one?
