Files won't play
My files appear in the app but when I go to play them, I get a message saying that they can't be found and thne asks if I'd like to search for them. If I say yes, nothing is found. I find the program completely useless.

Seems your music isn't where Apple Music thinks it is
Open Music
Go to music > preferences > files
You'll see the music media location
You can change that directory to match where your music is currently on your Mac
If you don't know where your music is, search for any individual song in finder and show the containing folder
If you know your music is elsewhere, either point the media location to that folder, or drag all of your music into the media location specified in music.
Then, when Apple Music asks you to locate, you can simply point to the location of your music.
