How do I take files off of iCloud drive if I no longer need to access on other devises?

Hi- I would like to put Documents back on my hard drive, I do not need them in iCloud drive.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

You can drag and drop files personal / documents to some other location as described in the last paragraph of the article Work with files and folders in iCloud Drive - Apple Support
