new iPhone using less storage than old one

I just upgraded from iPhone 7 to new iPhone SE. The old phone was using 71.1 GB of 128 GB. The new phone is only using 52.4 GB of 128 GB and doesn't show the color coded categories of what's in storage. Any ideas what's going on?

As your new phone indexed, it likely got rid of "other" files which were occupying space on the old phone. I wouldn't worry about it. Once indexing is fully complete, the categories should populate.
