Two-Factor Authentication Pain

I don't have two-factor authentication. I don't want two-factor authentication. I don't want my computer to constantly ask me to start two-factor authentication. Make the constant notifications STOP!

Any suggestions?

There are certain services (for which I have yet to see a specific list) where Apple requires 2FA. I am a minimalist when it comes to using Apple's services so maybe I fly below the radar, but by running a newer macOS you may be encountering some of those. You just have to learn to live with Apple pestering you about certain things it thinks are for your good. Kind of like your mother telling you to zip up your coat when you go outside. Whenever I sign into my iPhone I get informed that an iOS update lurks in the shadows to inflict itself upon my iPhone which is perfectly happy in its ignorance of the existence of all these features I would never use anyway.

They likely aren't just doing it for you, they are also doing it for them. And it isn't just Apple, it is many tech giants such as Microsoft, also banks, etc. If an account is hacked because somebody has "Freedom" as their password and somebody charges $5,000 in purchases to your account then the company has to also sort out the mess. If also means bad PR for the companies if people are saying, "XYZ Incorporated let my account be hacked and all my photos be posted on the Internet." It doesn't matter if the reason they were hacked was -- to put it crudely -- their own stupidity. The days where all a hacked account meant was somebody being able to post to a BBS under your name are over and now accounts can mean big bucks.
