mac book pro won't open apps

Brand new Mac book pro, got it Wednesday, set it up, downloaded Avira for virus protection, MacBook worked perfectly Thursday, went to use it Friday morning and it won't open the settings app, the App Store, and the launch pad among others. It's working extremely slow.

Did I get a bad product? Should I reset to factory settings? should I send it back for a replacement?

Thanks.

Seen it before....

Third party AV is not recommended— it typically does nothing but add issues to the macOS and competes directly with Apples own built in security.

Search for the official uninstaller to remove your AV
